Digg Uses Idee’s TinEye for Image Duplicate Checking
We introduced a great product of idee, TinEye, as one of the best visual search engines in a previous post. Digg is a popular Web 2.0 application, where people can discover and upload content from anywhere on the web. These days I find Digg.com has partnered with idee’s TineEye for image duplicate checking, as shown in the following screen capture.
When you submit an image to Digg.com, Digg will check if this image has already been submitted by somebody else. Instead of using the text context of the image, Digg performs image duplicate search based on the image itself powered by TinEye. I am very glad to see the marriage of these two great web applications.
